Creator Terms
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18, have a Heyborly account in good standing, and follow these terms and our community guidelines. To receive payouts you must complete identity verification with Stripe and have a supported bank account (currently in the United States). We may decline or close any creator account.
2. Your link and attribution
- Your link is heyborly.com/c/<your handle>. Handles are permanent and must not impersonate anyone or include offensive or misleading terms.
- A new member is credited to you if they create their Heyborly account within 30 days of last tapping your link on the same browser, and complete signup within 14 days of creating their account. If they tap more than one creator's link, the most recent one counts.
- Existing members, people who have subscribed before, your own accounts and accounts you control are never credited to you.
- Attribution relies on a first-party cookie and may fail if the person blocks cookies, switches browsers or devices, or signs up later. We aren't responsible for missed attributions.
3. Commission
- You earn 30% of each Heyborly Plus subscription payment (currently $20 a month) made by a member credited to you, excluding taxes and after discounts and credits, for 12 months from that member's first payment.
- Other purchases, including the verified badge and advertising, don't earn commission.
- Commissions are held for 30 days before they become available. If a payment is refunded or disputed, the matching share of the commission is reversed, including after it has been paid out; reversals are deducted from your balance and future payouts.
- We may change the commission rate or duration with 30 days' notice on your dashboard; changes apply to payments made after the change.
4. Payouts
- On the 1st of each month we transfer your available balance through Stripe if it's at least $25. Smaller balances roll over. Stripe then pays out to your bank on its schedule.
- Payouts are made in US dollars. You're responsible for your own taxes. Stripe collects your tax information and provides tax forms (such as Form 1099) where required.
- Stripe may charge fees for its connected-account services as disclosed by Stripe. Stripe's Connected Account Agreement applies to your Stripe account.
- If your account is closed, earnings that haven't been paid out are forfeited, except where the law requires otherwise. A payout already in progress must complete before you can delete your account.
5. How you may promote Heyborly
- Disclose clearly that you earn from your link wherever you share it (for example “#ad” or “affiliate link: I earn when you subscribe”), as the FTC and similar laws require.
- Describe Heyborly accurately: a friendship and activity app for gay men 18+. Never present it as a dating, hookup or adult service, and never target or promote it to anyone under 18.
- Don't make income claims for others, promise matches or features we don't offer, or use Heyborly's logos in a way that suggests we endorse you.
- Not allowed: spam or unsolicited messages; fake reviews; coupon, cashback or incentive sites; paying or rewarding people to sign up or subscribe; bidding on “Heyborly” or similar terms in search ads; cookie stuffing or forced clicks; and creating, buying or using fake or duplicate accounts.
- Never share anyone's membership, identity or profile. Heyborly is anonymous-first; you'll only ever see aggregate numbers.
6. Enforcement
We may suspend creators who break these terms. Suspension stops new commissions and payouts. If we reasonably determine that commissions came from fraud, self-referrals, fake accounts or prohibited promotion, we may void those commissions and forfeit your unpaid balance, and reverse amounts already paid where the law allows. We'll tell you the reason on your dashboard; contact us to dispute a decision.
7. Data and privacy
We use your account details, handle and payout status to run the program. Stripe handles your identity verification and bank details; we don't receive your bank account number. Members who join through your link are never identified to you: you see clicks, totals and monthly earnings only, and counts under 5 are hidden. See our privacy policy.
8. Changes, termination and liability
We may change or end the program with 30 days' notice; commissions earned before the end date will be paid under these terms. You may leave at any time. The program is provided “as is”; to the extent permitted by law, our liability to you is limited to the commissions owed to you in the previous three months. Questions: our contact form.
